Zie jij het helemaal zitten om je komend jaar in te gaan zetten voor de Rotterdamse student? Wil jij je onderdompelen in een startende vakbond, student organiseren, je verhouden tot bestuurders, politici en onderwijsinstellingen, en zorgen dat niemand in Rotterdam meer om STUUR heen kan? Dan zijn we op zoek naar jou!
STUUR is opgericht in november 2021 en gaat in september dus het vijfde jaar in. Daarom zijn we hard op zoek naar enthousiaste studenten die zich willen inzetten om via STUUR zo veel mogelijk studenten te organiseren. STUUR zet zich in voor studentenrechten en probeert verschillende onderwerpen onder de aandacht te brengen, zoals huisvesting, democratisering en Palestina. Bovenal zetten we ons nu met volle kracht in om te organiseren tegen de bezuinigingen van 1.2 miljard op het hoger onderwijs. Dit doen we door op landelijk niveau te helpen met het coördineren van demonstraties en op lokaal niveau netwerken te creëren, petities op te zetten en acties te organiseren.
Een bestuursfunctie bij STUUR is een afwisselende functie waarbij je veel vrijheid én verantwoordelijkheid krijgt. Omdat we pas kort bestaan wordt er van je verwacht dat je ondernemend bent, van aanpakken houdt en graag out of the box denkt. STUUR heeft veel ambities, maar die moeten ook nog waargemaakt worden! Er is genoeg werk aan de winkel. Bovendien is het handig als je al ervaring hebt binnen een vereniging of specifieke kennis hebt die je graag wil inzetten (denk aan financiën, marketing, schrijven, pers, activisme, organising). Natuurlijk woon en/of studeer je ook in Rotterdam!
Het bestuur bestaat uit vier functies. Je solliciteert op de functie die je het liefste zou willen bekleden. Hieronder staat kort beschreven wat elke functie inhoudt. Naast de functie zal je ook nog een aantal inhoudelijke portefeuilles op je nemen. Dit doe je in overleg met het nieuwe bestuur. Deze portefeuilles gaan bijvoorbeeld over het contact met de LSVb, diversiteit en inclusie, communicatie, openbaar vervoer, de Algemene Ledenvergaderingen van de LSVb, studenten welzijn, huisvesting, stage, internationalisering en nog veel meer. Er is dus naast de taken binnen je functie genoeg ruimte om je bezig te houden met relevante en interessante thema’s!
Voorzitter (12 uur p/w)
De voorzitter is het gezicht en de woordvoerder van STUUR. Je onderhoudt contacten en vertegenwoordigt STUUR in gesprekken met relevante partijen zoals andere studentenorganisaties en bestuurders. Ook ben je het aanspreekpunt voor contact met de pers en vind je het niet erg om af en toe vroeg op te staan om een interview te geven! Je bent niet bang voor netwerken en neemt graag initiatief om STUUR onder de aandacht.
Algemeen Bestuurslid (12 uur p/w)
Als algemeen bestuurslid kan je zelf je eigen rol invullen. Stort jij je een jaar lang volledig op HBO of huisvesting? Focus jij je op de Writers’ Guild of een andere werkgroep, zoals de Organising groep? Of wordt je toch meer een politiek secretaris die de wandelgangen van het stadhuis als een expert weet te navigeren. Verder zal hoogstwaarschijnlijk worden afgesproken dat jij de andere bestuursleden vervangt wanneer nodig, vaak wordt deze rol ook vormgegeven als een soort vice-voorzitter. Wil jij je steentje bijdrage aan STUUR? Dan is dit de rol voor jou!
Secretaris (12 uur p/w)
Als secretaris ben je de interne voorzitter. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het voorbereiden en voorzitten van de bestuursvergaderingen en zorgt ervoor dat iedereen binnen het bestuur zijn werk goed kan doen. Hier hoort ook een prettige samenwerkingscultuur bij, iets waar jij je graag mee bezig houdt! Je bent daarnaast het aanspreekpunt voor (nieuwe) leden, houdt de ledenadministratie bij en zorgt ervoor dat alle leden hun weg kunnen vinden binnen STUUR. Verder houd je je ook bezig met alle informatiestromen waar STUUR mee te maken krijgt, zoals de inkomende mail. Het is belangrijk om goed overzicht te kunnen houden van alles wat er in de vereniging gebeurt.
Penningmeester (12 uur p/w)
Als penningmeester ben je verantwoordelijk voor de financiële administratie van STUUR. Je houdt de boekhouding bij, stuurt facturen, beheert de bankrekening en maakt de begroting. Aan het einde van je bestuursjaar lever je de jaarrekening op en kan je al je keuzes verantwoorden naar de ALV. Ook werk je nauw samen met de Kascommissie, die jou ondersteunt maar ook controleert. Ook houd je je veel bezig met fondsenwerving en ben je constant op zoek naar nieuwe bronnen van inkomsten voor STUUR. Het is handig als je in deze functie wat financiële voorkennis hebt, zeker omdat je veel zelf nog moet opzetten. We zoeken dus iemand die het leuk vind om zich hier in te storten!
Belangrijke data
Als je solliciteert zijn er een aantal belangrijke data waar je rekening moet houden. Het is essentieel dat je op de volgende dagen beschikbaar en aanwezig kan zijn:
- Algemene Ledenvergadering STUUR – 25 juni 2025
- Inwerkdag 1 – 30 juni
- Inwerkdag 2 – nader te bepalen
Ook organiseert de Landelijke Studentenvakbond (LSVb) het bondenweekend voor de nieuwe besturen van de lidbonden. Het is niet verplicht om hierbij te zijn, maar we raden het wel aan! Het zal niet alleen nuttig, maar ook leuk zijn. Bovendien kan je hier je collega’s van de lidbonden ontmoeten!

Solliciteren
De deadline voor je sollicitatie is 20 mei 2025. Solliciteren kan door je motivatiebrief (1 a4’tje) of een CV op te sturen naar presidium@stuur-rotterdam.nl. STUUR vertegenwoordigd een diverse groep Rotterdamse studenten en die diversiteit willen we graag terugzien in het bestuur. We willen hierbij dan ook nadrukkelijk mensen van allerlei achtergronden uitnodigen om te solliciteren.
Het is goed om te weten dat STUUR op dit moment geen sollicitatiecommissie heeft. Er worden dus ook geen sollicitatiegesprekken gehouden en er komt geen voorstel voor een bestuur bij de Algemene Ledenvergadering. Je stelt je individueel kandidaat voor de functie van jouw keuze. De Algemene Ledenvergadering krijgt van tevoren jouw motivatiebrief/video en CV te zien en je mag jezelf kort presenteren en vragen beantwoorden op de Algemene Ledenvergadering (3 juli), op basis hiervan zullen de leden stemmen over de kandidaten.

STUUR is looking for a new board!
Are you ready to dedicate yourself to the Rotterdam student next year? Do you want to immerse yourself in a starting union, organize students, relate to administrators, politicians and educational institutions, and make sure that nobody in Rotterdam can ignore STUUR anymore? Then we are looking for you!
STUUR was founded in November 2021, so it will enter its fifth year in September. That is why we are looking hard for enthusiastic students who want to commit to organizing as many students as possible through STUUR. STUUR is committed to student rights and tries to bring attention to different issues, such as housing, democratization and Palestine. Above all, we are now fully committed to organizing against the 1.2 billion cuts to higher education. We do this by helping to coordinate demonstrations at the national level and creating networks, setting up petitions and organizing actions at the local level.
A board position at STUUR is a varied position in which you get a lot of freedom and responsibility. Because we have only existed for a short time, you are expected to be enterprising, hands-on and like to think out of the box. STUUR has many ambitions, but they must also be realized! There is plenty of work to be done. Moreover, it is useful if you already have experience within an association or have specific knowledge that you would like to apply (think finance, marketing, writing, press, activism, organizing). Of course you live and/or study in Rotterdam!
The board consists of four positions. You apply for the position you would most like to hold. Below is a brief description of what each position entails. Besides the position you will also take on a number of substantive portfolios. You will do this in consultation with the new board. These portfolios are for example about contact with the LSVb, diversity and inclusion, communication, public transport, the General Assembly of the LSVb, student welfare, housing, internship, internationalization and much more. So besides the tasks within your position, there is plenty of room to get involved in relevant and interesting topics!
Chair (12 hours p/w)
The chairman is the face and spokesperson of STUUR. You maintain contacts and represent STUUR in discussions with relevant parties such as other student organizations and administrators. You are also the point of contact with the press and don’t mind getting up early occasionally to give an interview! You are not afraid of networking and like to take initiative to bring STUUR to the attention of the public.
General Board Member (12 hours p/w)
As a general board member, you can fill your own role. Do you plunge into democratization or housing for a year? Will you focus on the Writers’ Guild or another working group, such as the Organizing group? Or will you become more of a political secretary who knows how to navigate the corridors of City Hall like an expert. Furthermore, it will most likely be agreed that you will replace the other board members when needed, often this role is also shaped as a kind of vice-chair. Would you like to do your part to STUUR? Then this is the role for you!
Secretary (12 hours p/w)
As secretary, you are the internal chairperson. You are responsible for preparing and chairing the board meetings and making sure everyone on the board can do their job properly. This includes a pleasant culture of cooperation, something you like to do! You are also the point of contact for (new) members, keep the membership records up to date and ensure that all members can find their way within STUUR. You will also take care of all information flows that STUUR has to deal with, such as incoming mail. It is important to keep a good overview of everything that happens in the association.
Treasurer (12 hours p/w)
As treasurer you are responsible for the financial administration of STUUR. You keep the books, send invoices, manage the bank account and make the budget. At the end of your board year you will deliver the annual accounts and justify all your choices to the ALV. You also work closely with the Audit Committee, which supports but also checks you. You also keep yourself busy with fundraising and are constantly looking for new sources of income for STUUR. It is helpful if you have some prior financial knowledge in this position, especially since you have to set up a lot yourself. So we are looking for someone who enjoys throwing themselves into this!

If you are applying for a position, there are a number of important dates to keep in mind. It is essential that you can be available and present on the following days:

The national student union (LSVb) also organizes the union weekend for the new boards of the member unions. It is not mandatory to attend, but we do recommend it! It will be not only useful, but also fun. Moreover, you can meet your fellow member unions here!

The deadline for your application is 20 May 2025. You can apply by sending your motivation letter (1 A4) and a CV to presidium@stuur-rotterdam.nl. STUUR represents a diverse group of Rotterdam students and we would like to see this diversity reflected in the board. We would therefore like to explicitly invite people from all backgrounds to apply.
It is good to know that STUUR currently does not have an application committee. Therefore, there will be no job interviews and no proposal for a board at the General Assembly. You apply individually for the position of your choice. The General Assembly will see your motivation letter/video and CV in advance and you may briefly present yourself and answer questions.
