Every Dutch citizen aged 18 and up is obligated to have health insurance. A lot of people get health insurance through their job, because their employer has the ability to arrange a group discount with the insurer. Most students study fulltime, and therefore cannot get the discount through an employer. Because of this problem, the LSVb (our national representors) and ISO, together with Zilveren Kruis Achmea, started their own health insurance policy, especially made for students: Studenten Goed Verzekerd. This policy gives students the group discount that they normally can't get, and has all the necessities. It is also one of the cheapest policies in the Netherlands.
The policy also has a foundation that has the ability to give funds to projects that are concerned with student wellbeing. This way student wellbeing, both physically and mentally, can be improved. You can read more about this foundation here.
